The building of the Ladybower reservoir submerged the village of Derwent but the dry summer and autumn of 2018 meant the reservoir level dropped, and it was possible to see the remnants of the village, probably to the biggest extent since their initial submerging.

The water level is usually towards the horizontal part of the aquaduct, but the dry summer of 2018 meant it was possible to walk on the valley bottom.
